Editorial & Testing Policy
Last updated : 2026-11-03
This page explains how the content is produced, who produces it, and what the commercial relationship does and does not buy.
Who produces the content
This site is written and published by John, an independent publisher based in USA. It is not affiliated with any of the platforms it reviews beyond the affiliate links disclosed below.
How platforms are evaluated
Articles are based on hands-on use of the platforms being compared, not on press releases or a summary of other reviews. Each comparison article states the number of apps tested, the length of the test, and the date it took place, so a reader can judge how current the observations are.
Where apps are compared, they are assessed on the same criteria in the same session: memory behaviour over a long conversation, image and video generation, voice, filtering policy, billing transparency, privacy controls and mobile behaviour. A criterion that could not be assessed on a given platform is reported as not assessed rather than scored by guesswork.
What the commercial relationship buys — and does not buy
Outbound links to platforms may be affiliate links, and a subscription made through one may earn the publisher a commission at no extra cost to the reader.
What a commission does not buy:
- a position in a ranking;
- a score or a numerical rating;
- the removal of a documented weakness;
- a favourable verdict in a comparison;
- silence about a limitation.
Where this site earns from a platform, that platform is not automatically recommended. Several articles conclude against the platform that pays, and those conclusions stay in place.
What is not published
No sponsored article is presented as editorial. If a page is ever paid for directly, it will carry an explicit label at the top. There is no paid placement in any "best of" list.
Corrections
If a price, a feature or a claim is wrong, write to the address on the Contact page quoting the page and the sentence. Verified errors are corrected and the article's update date is changed. Substantive corrections are described in the article rather than silently edited away.
Update practice
Articles carry a publication date and an update date. Pricing and feature comparisons are the first things to go stale, so a page whose pricing section is more than a few months old should be treated as indicative rather than exact.
Sources and limits
Where an article cites research, it is cited so the reader can check it. Where an article expresses a judgement, it is editorial opinion based on the testing described above, not a factual claim about a platform's intent or quality in absolute terms. Nothing on this site is medical, psychological, legal or financial advice.
